Appeal for witnesses following a serious injury collision- Abingdon

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious injury collision in Abingdon.

At 3.18pm today (10/08) officers were called to a road traffic collision involving an ambulance and a mobility scooter on the A415, Stratton Way, Abingdon.

The collision happened at the junction of Bath Street. Road closures are currently in place on Stratton Way. We would advise motorists to avoid the area.

The rider of the mobility scooter has been taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in a serious condition.

Senior investigating officer Inspector Gavin Biggs,of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Bicester said: “We are in the early stages of this investigation and are on scene at this time whilst we continue to make enquiries and recovery work will start in due course.

“We would ask anyone who was a witnesses to the collision or may have dash cam footage to please get in touch and call 101 on 822 10/8/18.”
