Appeal for witnesses following fatal road traffic collision – Wallingford

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in Wallingford.

It happened on the A4130 between the Crowmarsh Gifford roundabout and the village of Nuffield.

Shortly after 11.30am yesterday (8/8) a Landrover and HGV tanker were involved in a road traffic collision at the junction of Old Icknield Way near to Oakleywood in Benson.

Sadly the driver of the Landrover, a man in his 80s from Oxfordshire, sadly died. Specialist officers are supporting the man’s next of kin.

The driver of the HGV was uninjured.

Our investigation is ongoing, no arrests have been made in connection with this incident.

Investigating officer, PC Andrew Harper of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Abingdon, said: “This collision has sadly resulted in the death of a man, our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
