Appeal for witnesses after incident of outraging public decency – Reading

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after an incident of outraging public decency which happened in Reading.

The incident happened today at about 9am on the number six bus, shortly before the Bridge Street stop.

A man sitting on the upper deck of the bus was seen touching himself inappropriately in front of other passengers.

He left the bus at the Bridge Street stop, near Reading Civic Centre.

Investigating officer, PC Colin Boyes, based at Reading police station, said: “We are investigating this incident and have made an arrest.

“If anyone witnessed the incident, or has any information which they think could help our investigation, I would ask them to get in touch.

“Anyone with any information should call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101.”

A 19-year-old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency. He is currently in police custody.
