Appeal for witnesses following arson – Witney

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an arson in Witney.

The incident occurred at around 11pm on Monday (7/1) at a property in Fallowfield Crescent.

The victim, a 26-year-old woman, was at home with her two children when she discovered that a fire had been started outside her front door.

She was able to put the fire out and no one was injured.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Mark Personius, of CID at Banbury police station, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious around the time this incident happened.

“We would also like anyone who may have CCTV of the area to please get in touch.

“If you have any information relating to this incident, please call the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference ‘43190006629’ or make a report online.

“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

A 29-year-old man from Carterton has been arrested on suspicion of arson. He has been released under investigation.
