Thames Valley Police is releasing CCTV footage in connection with a burglary investigation in Abingdon.

Between 4.35am and 4.440am on Monday (10/6), a distinctive white Mercedes Estate vehicle arrived at the Budgens in Peachcroft Road, Abingdon.

The vehicle had a three-quarter black sun roof and black alloy wheels.

Three people got out of the vehicle and used gas to try and access the ATM at the site.

They then gained access to the store using an angle grinder.

The offenders were all wearing dark coloured clothing and dark face coverings.

Nothing was stolen during the incident.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Steph Barras-Thompson, of Force CID based at Abingdon police station, said: “We are releasing this footage as we hope that someone will recognise the distinctive vehicle that is shown.

“I am urging anybody who has any information relating to this incident, or who recognises the vehicle and who may have been driving it, to contact the 24-hour non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 43190173888.

“Alternatively, you can call the independent charity anonymously on 0800 555 111 or make a report online.

“We are currently keeping an open mind as to whether this is linked to other burglaries in the Thames Valley, but hope that the release of this footage will assist us in our investigation.”
