Thames Valley Police has held a ceremony, attended by Deputy Chief Constable John Campbell, Assistant Chief Constable Dave Hardcastle and guest speaker Christine Weston in recognition and celebration of exceptional hard work and achievements across the Thames Valley.
Officers and staff have been commended for their outstanding contributions to the policing of high profile events, complex investigations and raising awareness of threats to the region.
One of the officers receiving a commendation was Chief Inspector Pete Dalton for his work on the operation that covered the policing of the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in May 2018.

Two members of staff were commended for helping to develop the understanding of county lines locally, regionally and nationally. They worked to identify vulnerable people who were being exploited by organised criminal groups and track national data to develop the picture of county lines across the country.
A team of four officers and a member of staff were commended for their work in two complex fraud investigations that looked into over 200 crimes across seven regions with a total loss to victims of £3 million. Due to the complexity of the investigations, their work has been recognised for their dedication to apprehend and convict those responsible. So far there have been 33 convictions in relation to these investigations.
Two Detective Constables and a member of staff were commended for their contribution to a joint investigation between SEROCU, the FBI and the UK Secret Service. Thousands of US agents and staff had sensitive and personal details published about them online following targeted cyber attacks. This investigation, working internationally with US law enforcement, led to multiple sentences ranging from two to five years imprisonment.
