A man from Reading has been charged with one count of causing grievous bodily harm following an incident in Lower Earley on 16 April 2019.
David Beckford, aged 30, of Laburnum Gardens, Reading, was arrested on Sunday (5/5) and charged the following day.
The charge is in connection with an incident at around 5.20pm on 16 April at the Asda superstore in Chalfont Way, Lower Earley, when an 82-year-old woman was pushed over in the car park.
The woman sustained hip injuries as a result of the incident. She was treated in hospital and required surgery and a hip replacement.
Beckford appeared before Reading Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was remanded in custody to appear before Reading Crown Court on Monday 3 June.
